The Migas Center at the Islamic University of Riau received a visit from the Central SKK Migas. The visit was represented by the Head of the Human Resources Division of SKK Migas, Hudi Suryodipuro. The visit took place at the Migas Center on the 2nd floor of the Islamic University of Riau on Wednesday afternoon (20/7/2022).
Present during the visit were a delegation from SKK Migas, including the Head of the SKK Migas North Sumatra Regional Representative, Rikky Rahmat Firdaus, the Head of the Public Relations Department of SKK Migas, Yanin Kholison, along with the Contractor Cooperation Contractors (KKKS) in the Riau region, namely BOB and PT. BSP. From the Islamic University of Riau, Vice Rector 1 Dr. H. Syafhendry, M.Si, and Vice Rector 2 Dr. Firdaus AR, SE., MSi., AK., CA were also present.
The event began with a welcome address from the Coordinator of Migas Center UIR, Hj. Fitrianti, S.T., M.T., who is also a lecturer in the Petroleum Engineering Program at the Faculty of Engineering, UIR. She expressed gratitude to SKK Migas North Sumatra for their visit and thanked the UIR leadership for their continuous support. Fitrianti highlighted various achievements and milestones that Migas UIR has accomplished to date.
“Thank you to SKK Migas for visiting the Migas Center at UIR. We also express our thanks to the UIR leadership for their full support. SKK Migas North Sumatra and KKKS in the Riau region collaborate to achieve common goals for progress. Many benefits have been obtained since the establishment of Migas Center UIR. According to its function as an education and information center, both for students and the general public. Since being nurtured through the curriculum in the last three years by SKK Migas and KKKS in Riau, the achievements include UIR students being accepted by several prominent oil and gas companies in Indonesia. For example, one of our alumni named Muhammad Fadly, a member of Migas Center Batch 1, passed the Pertamina BPS in 2022, and other ROGC members have also been accepted by PHR and SKK Migas,” said Fitrianti.
Fitrianti added that the achievements of the students associated with Migas Center UIR can inspire and motivate other UIR students. In this regard, guidance and advice from SKK Migas and KKKS in the Riau region are essential.
In his brief speech representing the Rector, Vice Rector 1 Dr. H. Syafhendry, M.Si expressed gratitude and appreciation to Migas Center and the SKK Migas delegation. He introduced UIR, shared the current achievements of UIR, and mentioned that the Petroleum Engineering Program at UIR is one of the favorite programs with students coming from various regions in Indonesia.
Furthermore, Hudi Suryodipuro expressed admiration and was impressed with Migas Center UIR. He did not expect to be welcomed with such enthusiasm by both the Islamic University of Riau and Migas Center UIR.
“UIR, as the only institution in Riau with a Petroleum Engineering Program, can be a significant contributor to the birth of petroleum human resources for SKK Migas. However, to move in that direction, we need more intensive collaboration and synergy. With the presence of Migas Center in educational institutions, especially with universities, it can slowly become a stepping stone and a channel for our students to contribute to the oil and gas industry,” said Hudi.
After the friendly interaction, the event continued with the presentation of souvenirs in the form of books and plaques from SKK Migas and PT Bumi Siak Pusako to the Islamic University of Riau. Finally, to conclude the event, the SKK Migas delegation provided a presentation related to the Migas Center’s profile. The delegation was also guided to tour the facilities, brief profiles, and various miniatures and models explaining the process of oil processing from upstream to downstream, led by UIR students Arie Minanda Putra and Fouja Ramadhanny Atmaja, who are also members of the Riau Oil and Gas Community (ROGC).
