The Islamic Da’wah Institute of the Riau Islamic University Campus (hereinafter stated as LDIK UIR) was established in 2009 on the basis of the Statute of the Islamic University of Riau in 2013 and the Decree of the Rector of the Islamic University of Riau Number: 297 / UIR / KPTS / 2013 LDIK UIR is under the organization of UIR institutions that are religious and social-community, expected to be able to carry out the formation and development of Islam in a planned and comprehensive manner at UIR in particular, and in Islamic society at large. LDIK UIR is UIR’s official da’wah mouthpiece which has internal and external da’wah programs. LDIK is run by a Chairman and a Secretary who have a commitment to Islam and consistently strive to realize the vision and mission of UIR.
Rector’s Decree on December 8, 2021 Number: 1280 / UIR / KPTS / 2021 concerning the Change of Name of the Islamic Da’wah Institute of Riau Islamic University Campus (LDIK-UIR) to the Directorate of Islamic Da’wah of Riau Islamic University Campus (DDIK-UIR).
The existence of the Directorate of Campus Islamic Da’wah (DDIK-UIR) has a strategic function as one of the instruments of enlightenment and acceleration in realizing the vision of “UIR 2041 to Become a World-Class Islamic University Based on Faith and Taqwa (Imtaq)”, in the context of how to broadcast Islam for the academic community plays a very important role because this institution is a pillar / umbrella for other Islamic institutions as well as the main da’wah laboratory on campus. Campus da’wah moves in a scientific community environment that prioritizes intellect and professionalism. Through this institution, it is hoped that strategies can be compiled and developed so that da’wah can spread its wings to other sectors on and off campus.

Mission
DDIK UIR’s mission is:
- Conduct research and construction in applying the contents of the Quran and As-Sunnah.
- Applying Islamic values in education and teaching with a global perspective in accordance with the teachings of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama’ah.
- Encourage activities and formulate research models that are integrated with Islamic values.
- Motivating every academic community to make Islam the basis for implementing community service activities based on sincerity
- Implement and evaluate the implementation of campus Islamic da’wah consistently, continuously and accountably through various print, electronic and mass media.
- Implement professional and trustworthy DDIK UIR management governance.
- Organizing cooperation and guidance with internal and external campus da’wah institutions synergistically to build people’s civilization.
Goals
To realize the vision and mission of DDIK as stated above, DDIK UIR will carry out various activities (programs) with the following objectives:
- The realization of increasing understanding and formation of Islamic character of the academic community in accordance with the guidance of the Quran and Al-Sunnah in order to obey Allah SWT.
- The realization of Islamic values in education and teaching through curriculum and lecture implementation to form an Islamic academic community.
- The realization of increasing the insight and spirit of Islam of researchers in producing research products that are integrated with Islamic values in fulfilling sharia maqashid.
- The realization of community service that is beneficial and brings welfare for the benefit of the ummah morally, materially & spiritually.
- The realization of campus Islamic da’wah that prioritizes amar ma’ruf, nahi mungkar and rahmatan lil alamin in all aspects of life.
- The realization of professional and trustworthy DDIK management.
